Labor Day weekend in 2026.
Sounds of the Season
Over twenty years ago, Fran Moore began an annual tradition of asking string musicians to meet at the Lakewood Mall to play carols for the shoppers on December 24. Called Dr. P's Angels to honor Dr. Michael Pappone, donations went toward a music scholarship at Long Beach City College. Over time, the group switched to playing at the Los Cerritos Mall. The event is now organized by Fran Moore's daughter, Cathy Moore Parker, and her granddaughter, Brooke Parker.
Beginning in December 2023, this annual event is now sponsored by our organization. All donations will go toward summer music camp scholarships. We raised $506 from the shoppers who stopped to enjoy the concert in December 2024.
We encourage you to join us on December 24, 2025. We play from 10 a.m. to noon. All string players are welcome to join us. Just bring your own stand. We play in front of Nordstrom.

Blaze Pizza Event
We sponsored a fundraising event at Blaze Pizza in Garden Grove on January 23, 2020. Arrowbear Music Associates earned 20% of the purchases for scholarships. We raised $59.06 for our Scholarship Fund. Thank you to everyone who was able to attend.
There's something special about the bond of friendship that alumni of
Arrowbear feel for each other. It's easy to see in the photos that everyone had a
wonderful time visiting and enjoying the delicious build-your-own pizzas.
Fuddruckers Event
On January 13, 2018, we sponsored a fundraising event at Fuddruckers in Lakewood, California. Arrowbear Music Associates received 20% of the proceeds for all food purchased that day by alumni. We raised $130, but more importantly, it was a chance to get together. We met new Arrowbear friends and reminisced with alumni from our time at camp.
